Fix your Frozen iPod Touch

A frozen iPod is a pain, I have covered how to reset a frozen iPod before but instructions to fix a frozen iPod touch are slightly different so here is a quick run down on what to do.

If your iPod touch appears to be frozen first thing to do is check the batteries have not drained, this may seem obvious but a quick charge from a USB port or even better use an iPod touch AC Chargerand you could be on your way. If charging your frozen iPod touch doesn't work the next step is to restart it by following the simple steps below

Reset steps for Frozen iPod Touch

  • Hold down the sleep/wake button until you see the red slider
  • Slide to the right to turn your iPod touch off
  • Turn the iPod touch back on by holding the sleep/wake button

iPod Surgery Tip – hold down the home button to close down a frozen application then restart

If none of the above steps work never fear you can still fix your frozen iPod touch by resetting it. Simply hold down the sleep/wake button and the home button until the apple logo appears.

If your iPod touch is Still Frozen

Final things to try - reset all settings in the settings > reset menu and if all else fails you can reset the iPod by connecting to iTunes. This is a last resort as it will delete media and data and reset all your settings. This can be done by connecting your iPod to your computer selecting the iPod icon in the iTunes source list and click on restore in the summary tab.

I hope we have helped you to fix your Frozen iPod if you have any other tips let us know!
